Pillar Page Linking Strategy

In our experience, we’ve found that creating a larger post (pillar page) and a shorter post (supplemental page) for a focus keyword works best.

Because of this, you will receive two pieces of content focused on the same, or similar keyword, the larger piece being the pillar page and the shorter piece being the supplemental page.

Link the supplemental page to its corresponding pillar page using the focus keyword when posting the content on your website.

Why should you do this?

Pillar pages have a much better chance of ranking for the target keyword due to their larger word size. Creating an internal linking hirearchy within your site can tip-off the search engines as to which page should be ranked for a certain keyword.

This is why linking a supplemental page to its corresponding pillar page for the focus keyword is important.

Tip: Posting Frequency

We recommend posting your blogs evenly throughout the month. It’s also easier from a linking perspective to post your pillar pages first and then your supplementals.

For example, if you have a Level 1 subscription (2 blog posts), post one blog post every other week. If you have a Level 2 subscription (4 blog posts), post one blog post every week, etc.

SEO Title Tags and Meta Descriptions

If your blog subscription includes the SEO Package, each of the blog posts you receive will include an SEO Title Tag and a Meta Description.

These meta tags are created to help optimize your blog posts for search engines.

Copy and paste the SEO Title Tag and Meta Description content into your website’s corresponding SEO Title and Meta Description fields for each blog post when posting.

SEO optimization helps search engines to understand your blog content. Having good SEO title tags and meta descriptions can help search engines to index and rank your content for keywords.

Tip: Use A Plugin

If your website uses a platform such as WordPress, adding title tags and meta descriptions can be done easily through the use of free SEO plugins such as Yoast.

Once installed, an SEO plugin will add a fields for you to easily copy and paste the SEO Title Tag and Meta Description for your post.

Stock Images and Social Media Posts

If your blog subscription includes the Social Package, each of the blog posts you receive will include an image and social media post.

Images:

Each piece of content will include the image ID# at the top which corresponds to the ID# of an image attached with your order.

Social Media Posts:

Each piece of content will include a social media post at the top of the content. Feel free to copy and paste this social media post content into the social media platform of your choosing to create a post that links back to its corresponding blog post.

Why should you do this?

Including an image in your blog post helps to break up text and is more visually pleasing and interesting to the reader.

Adding a social media post that links back to a blog post is a good way to generate traffic to your website through social media platforms. This can also encourage readers to link to your blog post if they find the information useful.
